A London 2012 cultural project: Truck Art - Young People in Luton transform a Bedford truck to a Pakistani folk truck
A group of young people from Luton in Bedfordshire, UK are to decorate a vintage Bedford Truck inspired by the colourful and fascinating Pakistani Truck Folk Art as part of Eastern Exchanges - a London 2012 Cultural Olympiad Stories of the World programme. The truck is planned to go on display as a part of an exhibition at Stockwood Discovery Centre in Luton at the end of March 2011. It will then take part in the Luton 2011 International Carnival and the Mela.
In November 2010, the group went for a trip to Pakistan to find out more about Pakistani Folk Art, specifically Truck Art. The following slideshow shows the group during their trip to Pakistan.
